Just in Time!
This is the quilt I made for my son's teacher. She also taught my daughter for 3 years. She is a really wonderful lady and I hope she enjoys the quilt. I am pleased with how it has turned out. Tomorrow is the last day of school so it has just been done in time. If you click and enlarge the photo the colors show up much better.
The pattern is a combination of a couple of patterns from the Kim Diehl book called Simple Traditions. I really love her patterns and may eventually get up the courage to try one of the applique patterns. I have the Simple Traditions book and the Simple Seasons book. Both are wonderful to look through.
This is a close up of some of the quilting. I don't usually use white in my quilts, but it does make a great area to show off thread and quilting. I have started to use more white after seeing so many neat quilts on other blogs. This is a white on white. The fabrics are all Posh from Moda.
Thanks for checking out my blog. I have one more quilt to wash tonight, so maybe more pics later. I have to take DS for an appointment at the optometrist. His contacts prescription has expired and he only has one set left. I wonder where he gets this last minute thing from???

Your quilt is beautiful, I'm sure that your children's teacher will love it. I'm sure a gift like that and all that it represents will warm her heart.
Your quilt is so pretty, I love the fabrics you have chosen, they really make a 'simple' quilt into something so beautiful. I used to feel so appreciated when I received gifts from the children I taught, so I know that your children's teacher will be over the moon with such a special gift.
Gorgeous! What a lucky teacher. I am sure it will be treasured.Great Job.
Very nice quilt and you've done a wonderful job on the quilting too. Congrats on finishing just in time :)
Wow, this quilt is amazing. I love the quilting designs and the color combination. It is a great present and I am sure your son's teacher will love it!!
Your machine quilting is amazing too. I am just starting machine quilting and have only braved stippling so far. Your designs look great!
Wow thats beautiful! I love the quilting done on it.
What a lovely quilt. I am sure the teacher will be very pleased with it!
That turned out great! I started a basket block pattern using that fabric group and now you have motivated me to get it out and finish it. I was having some issues with the triangles at the base of the baskets and got frustrated.
I am a big Kim Diehl fan too.
I just found your blog for the first time today. Your Posh quilt is just stunning. I love the white with those fabrics. I haven't quite decided what to do with my Posh FQs yet, but your quilt is very inspirational!
